    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus for metallic material with which the temperature distribution in a treating chamber is uniformized and also, the flowing of impure gas into the treating chamber can effectively be restrained.
      SOLUTION: In the heat treatment apparatus for metallic material, a workpiece is deep-cooling-treated by spray-supplying liquid-nitrogen supplied from a liquid-nitrogen storing vessel into a treating-chamber (1) accommodating the workpiece (W), and the workpiece (W) finishing the deep-cooling treatment is tempering-treated under non-oxygen atmosphere. A fan (2) is disposed in the treating-chamber (1), and a fan-driving shaft (13) of the fan (2) is introduced to out of the wall surface from the wall surface of the treating chamber (1) and linked with a driving device (3). A bearing (21) pivotally supporting this fan-driving shaft (13) so as to be relatively rotatable, is fitted to the wall of the treating-chamber (1) through an interposing member (23), and inert gas passages (25) (26) for spouting the inert gas are formed in the interposing member (23) at inserting gap with the fan-driving shaft (13) generated in the interposing member (23).
