    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic-inorganic hybrid film material comprising a polyimide/polysesquisiloxane and to provide a method for producing an organic-inorganic hybrid material from a polyamic acid/polysesquisiloxane.
      SOLUTION: The organic-inorganic hybrid film material comprises a polyamide and a polysesquisiloxane (or a silicon alkoxide). The method for producing the same comprises separately preparing a polyamic acid and a polysesquisiloxane (or a silicon alkoxide) by a sol-gel method, forming a chemical bond between the polyamic acid and the polysesquisiloxane (or the silicon alkoxide) by using a coupling agent, and solidifying the reaction product by further elevating the temperature to obtain the organic-inorganic hybrid film material comprising the polyamide and the polysesquisiloxane (or the silicon alkoxide). According to this method, it is possible to effectively suppress phase separation and to therefore prepare a component having an arbitrary organic component ratio falling within the range of 0 to 100%. The film material having a component ratio adjusted by this method is endowed with controlled properties such as refractive index, birefringence value, permittivity, and levelness and is endowed further with heat resistance which is such excellent as to permit application to the field of an IC production method requiring a high temperature.
