    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light emitting device including an organic compound layer and having superior efficiency of luminescence. SOLUTION: The organic light emitting device is configured with: a positive electrode 2; a negative electrode 5; and the organic compound layer sandwiched by the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 5 and including at least a hole-injection layer 3. The hole-injection layer 3 includes a thiophene-imidazole compound represented by formula (1). Where, R 1 to R 4 represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted aryl group, a substituted or non-substituted alkoxy group, or a substituted or non-substituted aralkyl group, respectively.
