      SOLUTION: The power supply apparatus includes: a transformer; a series circuit, which is composed of a primary winding of the transformer, connected to a DC power source, a switching element, and a current detecting element; an output circuit, which is connected to a secondary winding of the transformer; an auxiliary winding of the transformer; an ON time limiting circuit, which is connected to the auxiliary winding and limits the ON time of the switching element by a time constant circuit; and a current limiting circuit, which switches off the switching element when a current detected by the current detecting element exceeds a predetermined value. The current limiting circuit has self-holding circuits 118 and 119, which self-hold the state of the current limiting operation when the detected current exceeds a predetermined value. The problem is solved by the power supply apparatus.
