    • PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduction signal improved in S/N by delaying the distance between a reproduction beam spot and another reproduction beam spot at a tail part by a time required for drive of a disk recording medium, then adding a photodetecting output. CONSTITUTION:The light beam supplied from a light source 1 is divided into two parts by half mirrors 13a and 13b and condensed on the same track T of a recording medium 4 in the form of beam spots 15a and 15b by objective lenses 14a and 14b. In such a case, the medium 4 is revolved at a fixed speed by a motor control circuit 8. Then the reflected light is transmitted again through lenses 14a and 14b and extracted by photoelectric transducers 16a and 16b in the form of reproduction signals. The output of the transducer 16a is sent to a delay element 17 and delayed there until the same information is delivered from the transducer 16b by the delay time control signal. A differential amplifier 12 amplifies differentially the reproduction signal sent from the transducer 16a with the time difference eliminated as well as the reproduction signal sent from the transducer 16b. Thus it is possible to obtain a reproduction signal having a satisfactory S/N.

      CONSTITUTION: A beam 2 for reproduction from a light source 1 reaches an optical disk 7 through an optical system 3, polarization beam splitter 4, and automatic focus control system 6. Its reflected light travels backward and is reflected by the polarization beam splitter 4 to be split into error detection light and reproduction light through an optical system 8. An error detection system 10 decides on the focusing state of the beam 2 for reproduction 2 and the automatic focus control system 6 is controlled by an automatic focus control signal 12. The reproduction light, on the other hand, is inputted as an information signal 15 to a variable transfer function circuit 14 through a regenrative amplifier 11 and its high frequency component is amplified relatively under the control of a focusing error signal 13 from the error detection system 10 to obtain a reproduced signal 16 which is superior in waveform equivalent characteristic over the wide frequency range.

In such a way, the deterioration is previously compensated for the signal amplitude in case a reproduced light spot is finite and in a reproduction mode. Such a compensation is carried out by relating the driving signal voltage obtained when the light intensity is modulated to the recording wavelength.
