    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a circuit and to reduce the number of parts by performing separation in DC and connection in AC with a telephone line and detecting the polarity inversion of the telephone line in an equipment for performing the separation in DC and the connection in AC with the telephone line and transmitting the state of the telephone line to a control part. SOLUTION: The network control unit NCU 12 of this communication equipment is provided with a function for performing insulation in DC and transmission in AC with the telephone line, the function for transmitting the state of the telephone line to a CPU 1 and the function for detecting the inversion of the polarity of the telephone line. Thus, the inversion of the polarity of the telephone line is detected without taking in the telephone line in DC. Further, by sharing a primary/secondary separation circuit for line monitoring, the parts required for satisfying breakdown strength between primary and secondary are reduced. The CPU 1 of the communication equipment easily detects the call signals of the telephone line by the functions of the NCU 12.
