    • PURPOSE:To offer an image forming apparatus which is capable of stabilizing feeding of a film to be fixed by reducing as far as possible a change in the outside diameter of a driving roller in the thrust direction of the roller even if a temperature difference is caused in the thrust direction of the driving roller which drives the film. CONSTITUTION:The core bar 31b and coating layer 31a of a driving roller 31 are made from materials with different coefficients of linear expansion and the thickness of the coating layer 31a is not uniform although the outside diameter of the driving roller 31 is straight. As a result, even if a temperature difference is caused in the thrust direction of the driving roller 31, a change in the outside diameter of the driving roller can be decreased, thus stabilizing feeding of the film.

    • PURPOSE:To hold a lubricant, etc., such as grease on the internal surface of a film invariably constant and prevent the frictional force of the film internal surface from increasing with a rotation time by providing a lubricant coating control means such as a roller or scraper which has an uneven surface. CONSTITUTION:A driving roller 19 which drives the endless fixation film 18 is composed of a roller which is called a grid roller having ceramic powder adhered to its top surface. This grid roller is used for the driving roller 19 and then excessive grease applied over the internal surface of the endless film 18 enters gaps between particles of the grid roller, so that the internal surface of the endless film 18 is coated with only a necessary amount of grease. Consequently, the amount of grease is held constant without increasing nor decreasing the amount of grease previously or controlling the amount of grease periodically, and the frictional force on the film internal surface is prevented from increasing.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an effect on a nip surface caused by the control of the offset of a fixing film and to eliminate an effect on an image by providing a control means for controlling the movement of the fixing film in a thrust direction at a position other than a film guiding member adjacent to the nip surface. CONSTITUTION:A supporting roller 23 is rotatably provided on a side plate and always kept in parallel with the nip surface, then a follower roller 20 is attached on the side plate so that it can move up and down. Since the roller 20 is moved up and down in order to control the offset of the fixing film 18 in the thrust direction, the roller 23 which is always kept in parallel with the nip surface and turnably attached cancels the difference of the entering angle or the tension of the film 18 to the nip surface, thereby always keeping the entering state of the film 18 to the nip surface constant. Thus, the effect on the nip surface which is caused at the time of controlling the offset of the film 18 by moving the roller 20 up and down is reduced and the effect on the image is eliminated.

Consequently, even when the steam from the recording material is sent to the periphery of the pressure roller in the low temperature state, it never stays at the periphery of the pressure roller and is therefore prevented from sticking in drops on the pressure roller.
