    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good assembly characteristic with a decreased number of parts and stable quality free from display defects by providing a holder for holding a liquid crystal display device, which is equipped with a frame part enclosing the mounting part, etc., for placing liquid crystal glass thereon and which is provided with an elastic part for energizing the glass in a plane direction. SOLUTION: The LCD 10 is held on the LCD holder 20. The LCD holder 20 is formed by molding and has the placing part 21 to be placed with the liquid crystal glass of the LCD 10 and the frame part 22 enclosing the peripheral part of the liquid crystal glass placed on the placing part 21. The frame part 22 of the LCD holder 20 is provided with regulating parts 23a, 23b for preventing the disengagement of the liquid crystal glass placed on the placing part 21 in a perpendicular direction and is provided with the elastic apart 24 for energizing the liquid crystal glass in the horizontal direction. The lower side of the frame part 22 is provided with an engaging part 25 which is snap pawl to be engaged with an electric circuit board and a position boss 26 for positioning.

    • PURPOSE:To certainly detect the presence of a recording sheet without increasing the number of parts by forming a reflecting surface having an angle different from that of the guide surface of the recording sheet at the predetermined position of a frame body. CONSTITUTION:A recording sheet presence sensor 48 is constituted of a reflection type optical sensor and the light from the light emitting element of the sensor 48 is reflected from the recording sheet 1 passing between the edge part oblique surface 27e2 of the window 27e formed to the second housing 27b and the oblique surface 6g formed to an apparatus oblique surface 6g formed to an apparatus main body 6 to reach a photodetector. That is, the surface of the light emitting element of the sensor 48 and the surface of the recording sheet 1 guided by a guide member 31 become almost parallel and, when there is no recording sheet 1, the light from the light emitting element is reflected from the edge part oblique surface 27e2 of the cartridge D and the difference between the quantity of the reflected light and that from the recording sheet 1 is detected on a voltage level to detect the presence of the recording sheet 1. The sheet guide member 31 is not bonded to the reflecting surface 27e3 reflecting the light from the light emitting element of the sensor 48 impinting against the cartridge D and the angle of inclination of the reflecting surface 27e3 is made different from that of the other edge part oblique surface 27e2.

    • PURPOSE:To enable use of both thermal recording and thermal transfer modes and shorten recording time when a medium for thermal recording is used by changing the number of thermal dots from a thermal head depending on the processes of recording using a medium for thermal recording and of thermal transfer recording using an ink sheet. CONSTITUTION:A roll paper 10 consisting of recording sheet 11 is stored so that the sheet 11 is supplied to a thermal head part 13 when the device is set to thermal transfer mode. On the other hand, the thermal recording sheet 10 is supplied to the thermal head 13 when the device is set to the thermal recording mode. A platen roller 12 transports the recording sheet 11 and presses an ink sheet 14 and the recording sheet 11 between the roller and a thermal element 132 of the thermal head 13. The sheet 11 where an image is recorded by the heat of the thermal head 13 is transported in the direction of a discharge roller 16, then is cut using a cutter 15 and is discharged when the device is set to the thermal transfer recording mode, the ink transferred from the ink sheet 14 to recording sheet 11 and an image is recorded there. When the device is set to the thermal recording mode, the thermal recording sheet 11 becomes colored to record an image. When an image is recorded on the thermal sheet, the number of dots which become heated simultaneously by the drive of the thermal head 13 is increased to cut the recording time short.
