摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a golf ball, capable of providing a crosslinked molding having an enhanced resilience and a reasonable hardness by reviewing various types of additives to be blended in the rubber composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a golf ball contains (A) a base material rubber containing a polybutadiene containing ≥60 mass% of a cis-1,4-bond, (B) an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its metal salt, and (C) a diphenylamine represented by formula (1), wherein Rand Rare a hydrogen atom or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; and m is an integer of 1 to 5, n is an integer of 1 to 4, provided that when m and/or n is ≥2, n and m may be identical or different. The present invention can provide a crosslinked molding having a reasonable hardness, a high resilience and a high quality. Application thereof particularly to a material of a one-piece golf ball or a solid core material of a multilayer solid golf ball can provide a high initial velocity, an elongated carry and a good hitting feeling.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball manufacturing method for efficiently manufacturing very stylish golf balls having a highly transparent cover without detriment to coloration.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing golf balls having a highly transparent cover includes, prior to formation of the cover, a preformed body fabricating step wherein a fluorescent material that has a white color under ordinary visible light and emits light when exposed to ultraviolet radiation is included in or coated onto the preformed body. In this way, a preformed body which matches a cover to be formed can be easily and reliably identified from among a plurality of types of preformed bodies which are stored at a temporary storage place and fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. This manufacturing method enables golf balls of excellent visibility and stylishness to be efficiently produced.

The core has a cross-sectional hardness which, letting (H) be a JIS-C hardness at a position 14 mm in from a surface toward a center of the core, (H) be a JIS-C hardness at a position 8 mm in from the surface toward the center of the core, (H) be a JIS-C hardness at a position 6 mm in from the surface toward the center of the core, and (H) be a JIS-C hardness at a position 4 mm in from the surface toward the center of the core, satisfies the formulas (1) H 8. The golf ball achieves in particular satisfactory distances, both on shots with drivers and on shots with middle irons such as a number six iron (I#6) used by professional golfers and skilled amateurs, and also exhibits an improved durability to cracking when repeatedly struck.
