    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which is fast in responsiveness, is a dry system, is inexpensive with a simple structure, has excellent stability and can read out the image display states of displayed images.
      SOLUTION: The image display device includes an image display plate which is formed by sealing two or more kinds of particles (5 and 6) varying in colors and electrostatic charge characteristics between two substrates (1 and 2), at least one thereof being transparent, and displays the images by applying electric fields to the particles from an electrode pair consisting of the electrodes disposed at one or both of the substrates and by allowing the particles to scatter and move. The device reads out the image display state by detecting the scattering and moving currents generated when the particles in the pixels scatter and move. More specifically, the device is so constituted as to perform the reading out of the image display state by writing the images of the black color over the entire part or colors to the displayed images, and by determining the display densities of the respective pixels from the integrated values of the scattering and moving currents flowing in the respective pixels.

A determining circuit configured by the non-conductive structure and the plurality of connection wires drives a display element of the electronic paper portion which is received from the control device portion and corresponds to a control signal.
