SOLUTION: A method of making pendant acrylate- and/or methacrylate-containing polyether monols or polyols comprises: providing a monomer mixture comprising an alkylene oxide, an oxirane compound containing an acrylate or methacrylate group, and a starter compound having at least one active hydrogen with equivalent weight of 31 to 8,000 g/equivalent of active hydrogen; and polymerizing the mixture in the presence of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst and in the presence of an aprotic solvent and/or an oxidation inhibitor by request, wherein the polydispersity indexes of the obtained monols or polyols are 1.0-1.4.
