SOLUTION: The foundation construction device for producing trenches in soil comprises a frame 10, at least one soil removing device 21 disposed on the frame, and the control device for controlling the foundation construction device in the trench. The control device has at least one control body adjustable between an inoperative position and a projecting control position in order to rest on a wall surface of the trench. The control body is constituted to be adjusted into a first projecting control position on the first side face of the frame or a second projecting control position on a second side face of the frame that lies opposite to the first side face of the frame.
