    • PURPOSE: To conduct stable pneumatic transportation at a fixed volume of solid body containing coarse particles or block materials to a next high pressure process without using a mechanically operated means. CONSTITUTION: In a coarse particle separating type feeding unit, a cylindrical coarse particle separating pipe 27" is installed under an outlet of a feeder 27', and coarse particle separating gas (producer gas or inert gas) is horizontally fed from a side wall of the coarse particle separating pipe 27". When a gas flow velocity in the coarse particle separating pipe 27" is set not higher than a terminal velocity of a particle to be recovered, the particle of several mm or larger in diameter is dropped in the coarse particle separating pipe 27", while the particle having a velocity higher than the terminal velocity is conveyed by gas flow to flow into a raw material discharge pipe installed on a side wall of the feeder outlet, and pulverized coal, char or the like are fed to a high pressure furnace or the like. A differential pressure monitoring device is provided for monitoring a differential pressure between the feeder 27' and the coarse particle separating pipe 27", a differential pressure between the feeder 27' and the raw material discharge pipe, and a differential pressure between the coarse particle separating pipe 27" and the coarse particle recovering unit, and whether or not coarse particle recovering and fine particle discharging are stabilized is grasped based on a varying state of each differential pressure.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a method of coal gasification capable of quickly controlling the gasifying conditions and maintaining the optimal gasifying conditions, by feeding a coal and a gasifier into a furnace kept at a high temperature and controlling the amount of the gasifier to be fed according to the concentration ratio of the formed gas component. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized coal and a gasifier is fed into the gasifying chamber in the body of a gasifying furnace 10 from feeding pipes 18, 20 through a pulver ized coal feeder 44 and a flow controlling valve 50 which have been controlled with a controller 52. the formed gas is passed through a leading pipe 30, a dust collector 32 and a desulfurizer 34 to obtain a refined gas 38. The concentra tion ratio of the formed gas is determined with a gas analyzer 36. The results are input into the controller 52. When the absolute value of the difference be tween the concentration ratio which has been obtained lately and that obtained in the last determination is larger than a predetermined value, the valve 50 is controlled so as to decrease the amount of the gasifier, while when the abso lute value is smaller than the predetermined value, the amount of the gasifier is increased.
