摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method and an apparatus which can economically and industrially remove liquid ammonia remaining in an ammonia tank without washing it with water. SOLUTION: The method is to remove liquid ammonia (NH 3 ) remaining in the tank 1 and comprises a process of mixing generated NH 3 with a gas containing oxygen in a mixer 5 after vaporizing liquid NH 3 in the tank 1, a process of heating the NH 3 containing gas mixed in the above process, a process of decomposing the NH 3 into nitrogen and water by contacting the heated NH 3 containing gas with a catalyst 12, and a process of controlling the mixing ratio of NH 3 and the oxygen containing gas by adjusting valves 6, 7 based on the measured value of gas temperatures measured by thermometers 14, 15 before and after the process of decomposing with the catalyst 12.
