    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch the position of a thread insertion hook to the engagement position where the hook can be engaged with a thread around a thread hole when the thread is not inserted into the thread hole of a sewing needle for holding the hook at the position, and to simplify the structure of a thread insertion mechanism.
      SOLUTION: The thread insertion mechanism 55 has the thread insertion hook 120 movable from an engagement position where the hook is inserted into the thread hole to be engaged with a needle thread 57 located around the thread hole to a retreating position where the hook is drawn out of the thread hole. When the needle thread 57 is not inserted into the thread hole by the thread insertion mechanism 55, the thread insertion hook 120 is switched from the retreating position to the engagement position by a switch mechanism 125 and held there. On the other hand, when a thread cassette in which a thread piece is stored is mounted on a cassette mounting part, the thread insertion hook 120 interlocks with the mounting motion of the thread cassette and is switched to the retreating position by the switch mechanism 125.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a feeding amount at an optimum ratio in response to the stretchability of a cloth which is a sewing objective, perform a cloth feeding wherein a stretch is not generated, and make the finish favorable by providing a differential feeding connecting mechanism which can switch the ratio of the feeding amount of a differential feeding tooth member in a non-step way, based on the feeding amount of a main feeding tooth member. SOLUTION: A differential feeding device wherein a main feeding tooth 1 to feed a cloth which is a sewing objective, and a differential feeding tooth 3 are longitudinally arranged, is equipped with a sliding mechanism 20 which vertically moves a differential feeding tooth member 4 integrally with a main feeding tooth member 2, and at the same time, supports the differential feeding tooth member 4 relatively movably by a specified stroke in the cloth feeding direction, based on the main feeding tooth member 1. Also, a differential feeding connecting mechanism 22 which connects both feeding tooth members 2, 4 in such a manner that a ratio of the feeding amount of the differential feeding tooth member 4 based on the feeding amount of the main feeding tooth member 2 is switchable in a no-step way, is provided. Then, when a cloth with stretchability (stretchable fabric) is sewn, the ratio is switched in such a manner that the ratio of the feeding amount may become larger for a stretchable fabric with a large stretchability, and a cloth feeding wherein a stretch is not generated on the stretchable fabric is made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify changing work, and improve sewing quality of a lapping seam by setting tension of upper and lower looper yarns for hemstitches when operation is changed over to the hemstitch sewing side, and setting the tension of the upper and lower looper yarns for the lapping seam when the operation is changed over to the lapping seam sewing side. CONSTITUTION:Yarn tensioners 16, 17 are installed on the right and left of a support shaft 22 of a tension change-over mechanism 18. The yarn tensioner 16 is composed of a pair of tension discs 25, a tension spring 26, and a spring presser member 27, and each part is inserted through the support shaft 22 to slide freely, and held between a standing shoulder part 23 and a lever member 28. An upper looper yarn is guided between the tension discs 25, so that tension is applied to the upper looper yarn. Similarly, at the yarn tensioner 17, tension is applied to a lower looper yarn. As a changing dial 19 is operated to rotate for changing operation, the tension to the upper and lower yarns at the yarn tensioners 16, 17 is set at the optimum tension for hemstitch sewing of lapping seam sewing.

    • PURPOSE: To uniform the bobbin winding diameter of a thread to be wound by a bobbin thread bobbin between both flange parts by providing a cam body for setting the length of a thread supply path to almost equalize the length of the thread supply path from a thread guide to the bobbin thread bobbin even at any position between both the flange parts. CONSTITUTION: A cam body 28 erected on the thread supply path from a thread guide 20 to a bobbin thread bobbin 24 inserted and attached to a winding shaft 22 is composed of a plate body, with which an arcuate cam face 28a is formed on one vertical side, and vertically supported so as to be turned on the top of a sewing machine frame 10 by a supporting shaft 30 projected on the bottom thereof. The cam face 28a is formed into curved surface most protruding its central part, and made suitable for the case of installing a thread feeding position O at the height located in the middle of both flange parts 24b and 24c of a bobbin thread bobbin 24. With this cam face 28a, the length of the thread supply path for a thread 16 from the thread feeding position O to the bobbin thread bobbin 24 is almost equalized even at any position between both the flange parts 24b and 24c and the bobbin winding diameter of the thread to be wound by the bobbin thread bobbin 24 is uniformed between both the flange parts.

    • PURPOSE: To fix the amount of a needle thread in a prescribed period and to reduce the colliding sound of both thread engaging bodies generated at the time of restraining a needle thread by releasing and restraining the needle thread while swinging both thread engaging bodies within a prescribed motion range near the maximum thread take-up position of a needle thread take-up. CONSTITUTION: Over the period of about 80 degrees from about 30 degrees to about 110 degrees corresponding to the vicinity of the top position of the needle thread take-up 36, the engaging part 62a of a swing arm 62 is swung upwards in synchronism with the elevating movement of the needle thread take-up 36 and is swung downwards in synchronism with the lowering movement of the needle thread take-up 36. The distance 11 of a thread holding part 36a and the engaging part 62a is fixed and the needle thread amount from a pretension device through the swing arm 62 to the thread holding part 36a is fixed. Also, the swing arm 62 is swung by a driving lever 78, a driven lever 82 and a swing link 84 by the cam groove 74 of a rotary cam 76 fixed to a sewing machine main shaft. The movable wheel 70 of the swing arm 66 is elastically energized to the swing arm 62 by a spring member 72, the state of being abutted to the swing arm 62 is held at all times and impact sound at the time of restraining the needle thread is eliminated.
