摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a smoking article which is drastically decreased in the content of granular material in side-flow smoke from which moisture and nicotine are removed when a cigarette is applied to a smoke suction cylinder consisting of a smoking material and tobacco wrapping by regulating the circumference of this smoke suction cylinder. CONSTITUTION: The side-flow smoke of the cigarette 18 sucked in the mouth part 8 of a smoke sucking machine 7 is made to arrive together with air supplied 14 through a chimney 9 and conduits 11 and 13 at a filter pad 10. The side-flow smoke which does not stick to the pad 10 or the inside wall of the chimney 9 is advanced 14 through an inlet pipe 15 and an outlet pipe 16 to an analyzer 17. Next, the weights weighed at the point of the time the smoke suction of the tobacco 18 and two pieces of the same tobacco in the mouth part 8 is completed are converted to original weights and the total mass of the granular material sticking to the pad 10 is calculated.
