摘要： PURPOSE:To detect slight revolution and to expand the range of an angular speed of the detected revolution by applying respective specific operations to two prescribed output values outputted from the same optical path. CONSTITUTION:Amplifiers 10a, 10b amplify outputs sintheta, costheta from optical sensors 6, 9. The amplified light is converted into digital values by A/D converters 11a, 11b and the digital values are calculated by a computer 12. Namely, two output values are multiplied by a fixed constant and the multiplied values are added or subtracted to obtain one output value. If an output value like a sine function is a negative code, the code of the other output, i.e. an output like a cosine function, is inverted. Since the sensitivity is improved by said processing, the resolution of a gyroscope is improved, slight revolution can be detected and the range of the angular speed of the detected revolution can be expanded.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the optical fiber gyro with low drift by removing the coating part of an optical fiber wound up along the periphery of a drum and reducing temperature variation. CONSTITUTION:A quartz optical fiber 8 consists of a quartz core 8a, quartz clad 8b as a core part, and coating 8c of silicone resin, and a secondary coating 8d of nylon is removed. Further, the coating 8c is used as a reinforcing material and its thickness is made smaller than the diameter of the core part, obtaining minimum necessary optical fiber strength for optical fiber drum constitution. Consequently, the temperature of the whole drum is uniformed and the optical fiber gyro is reduced in size; and temperature variation with an environmental change of the fiber drum.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent variation in the efficiency of coupling with an optical fiber by returning one-order diffracted light to an acoustooptic element in parallel to said one-order diffracted light by a reflecting mirror which has two reflecting surfaces crossing each other at right angles, and guiding the diffracted light to one terminal of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The one-order diffracted light 121 diffracted by the acoustooptic element 3 is reflected by two mutually orthogonal reflecting surfaces 18a and 18b of the reflecting mirror 18 to return the element 3 and then separated into zero-order diffracted light 1210 and the 2nd one-order diffracted light 1211. The diffracted light 1211 is diffracted at the same angle theta1 of diffraction with the one-order diffracted light 121, so the 2nd one-order diffracted light 1211 is projected in parallel to the incident light 12 from the element 3. Even if the angle theta1 of diffraction varies to theta2, the 1st diffracted light beams 121 and 121' and held parallel to each other and enters a condenser 5 to hold the coupling efficiency of light in the optical fiber constant. Consequently, electromagnetic shield structure is simplified and reduced in size, so it is manufactured at low cost.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable zero-calibration corresponding to an external condition and improve accuracy with a low-speed output, by dividing a ray of light from a source into 2 directions and allowing them to be transmitted as independent rectilinear polarized lights up to the time of incidence into detectors and phase-adjusting them by light- phase modifier. CONSTITUTION:A ray of light flashed out from a source 11 divides with a light-divider 12 the S polarized light of 2 rectilinear polarized lights the polarizing planes of which being intersected each other through an angle of 90 deg. to the P polarized lights. These lights are flashed into both ends of an optical fiber loop 14 by combined lenses 13-2, 13-1. The outward flashed light to the opposite direction proceeds as they are divided into S and P, and they are flashed into the light-phase modifiers 15-2 and 15-1. To the light-phase modifier are applied from outside AC voltages 19-2 and 19-1 of the same frequency with phase inversion respectively. There, these S and P are led onto the same optical axis with a light combining apparatus 16 and flashed into a light detector 17 through a polarizing plate 21 and led to a phase-comparing apparatus 18 as electric signals corresponding to densities of the interference lights. The revolution speed of the fiber loop 14 is measured by obtaining the light-phase equivalent to the external voltage.
