    • PURPOSE:To obtain a fire detector capable of working with an enhanced accuracy by providing a judgment unit to check a fire detector for normality and do judgment on ignition and extinguishment by comparing an output detected from a fire with a preliminarily set output value from a normally functioning fire detector and with thresholds for judgement as ignition and extinguishment. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted by a flame 17 from a burner 2 in a combustion furnace 1 is transmitted to a photoelectric conversion unit 7 through an optical fiber head 3 and an optical fiber-for-relay 6, and then converted to an electrical signal, out of which only an AC component is extracted. From the electric signal only specific frequency band components are extracted at a band-pass filter 8; then conversion to DC occurs at a rectification 9 to produce a fire detection signal E. On the other hand, fire detection signals under normal function of the detective device are preliminarily stored in a memory unit, setting E1 as the lowest value, E2 as the highest value, and Eoff as a threshold for judgment as extinguished.     • PURPOSE: To enhance the freedom of the selection of the stopping time of operation as well as increase the safeness of cooler for cement clinker, etc., by using a system in which the evaporating portions of a large number of heat pipes are positioned in the cooling chamber of high-temperature solids, and the condensing portions are also in the refrigerant flow outside the cooler.
      CONSTITUTION: The evaporating portions 18 of each heat pipe 15 are heated by the radiant heat of cement clinker 8, whereby the heat pipe 15 is operated to transfer heat to the condensing portions 19 of the heat pipe 15. Since evaporating pipes 14 inserted with the condensing portions 19 are filled up with cooling water through a water supply pipe 1, heat is transferred to the cooling water 14 in the condensing portions 19 of the heat pipe 15, and steam is collected in a pipe 12 for removal. Thus, even when one of the heat pipes is broken, safety against the fear of explosion is raised because the amount of heat medium is less and therefore, the selectivity of the stopping time of operation is enhanced.
