    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal crimp method capable of suppressing opening of a barrel due to spring-back after a pair of barrels installed in an external conductor terminal is crimped to a braided inverted porion on a shield cable.SOLUTION: In a terminal crimp method, a pair of barrels installed in one end of an external conductor terminal is inserted and caulked between a pressure applying surface of a crimper and a pressure receiving surface of an anvil vertically so as to be crimped to the outer periphery of a braided inverted portion in a shield cable. An engaging piece is formed to project at the tip of one barrel while an engaging hole is formed by notching at the tip of the other barrel. The pressure applying surface of the crimper has a cross-sectional shape of a semicircle portion and taper portions connected with both circular arc ends in the semicircular portion, and a press type is provided in a nested manner in the center of the semicircular portion. After the tip of each barrel is guided to the center of the semicircle portion in the pressure applying surface along the taper portions and the semicircle portion in the pressure applying surface, the engaging piece in one barrel is pressed by the press type to be fitted to the engaging hole in the other barrel.

The terminal crimping method includes a first process of forming a plurality curved parts which is curved in a radial direction of the sleeve fixed to the outer periphery of the sheath terminal part on the sleeve along the outer periphery, and a second process of crimping the pair of barrels to the braid turned-over part formed by turning over the exposed braid to cover the outer periphery of the sleeve.
