The glass substrate 10 is adsorbed and fixed on a chamfering table 22, and the first chamfering grinding wheel 12, second chamfering grinding wheel 14, grinding wheel 16 for corner cutting, first finishing grinding wheel 18, and second finishing grinding wheel 20 are traveled in their respective directions indicated with arrow marks by a drive section at regular speed. Then, the glass substrate 10 undergoes chamfering of the long sides 10A and 10B, finished grinding, and chamfering of corners C1 and C2.
