The receiving waveform is Fourier-transformed to provide a spectrum, and the spectrum intensity in a region on a low frequency side, of the spectrum, is added in a predetermined range, and the corrosion of the reinforcing bar is diagnosed based on the reduction percentage of the addition value.

      SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for evaluating the cracks in the concrete pole is provided with an exciting coil 12 which is installed near the earth's surface at a surface portion of the concrete pole 11 rising perpendicularly to the earth's surface and driven so as to be pulsed; an acoustic sensor 14 which is installed on a surface of an upper region of the concrete pole in its longitudinal direction and detects acoustic pulses generated by excitation of reinforcing steels inside the concrete pole caused by magnetic pulses of the exciting coil; a measuring section 15 which picks up the acoustic pulses on the basis of detection signals from the acoustic sensor and measures damping factors; and a determining section 16 which determines the degree and the presence or absence of the cracks in a region between the exciting coil and the acoustic sensor on the basis of the damping factors being measured by the measuring section and corresponding to the acoustic sensor.
