    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage element in which current efficiency can be enhanced while reducing internal resistance.
      SOLUTION: A columnar positive electrode terminal 151 is welded to the upper part of a current collection plate 141A. Contrary to a conventional unit cell 50, the positive electrode terminal 151 is positioned such that the entirety of the positive electrode terminal 151 belongs to the left of the center of the current collection plate 141A on the drawing. A columnar negative electrode terminal 163 is welded to the lower part of a current collection plate 141B. Similarly to the positive electrode terminal 151, the negative electrode terminal 163 is positioned such that the entirety of the negative electrode terminal 163 belongs to the left of the center of the current collection plate 141B on the drawing. Radial welding is performed to plate portions 143A and 143B only in the right half on the drawing to avoid the positive electrode terminal 151 and the negative electrode terminal 163. Since welding point is not eliminated thoroughly for a predetermined length on the start-of-winding side of long electrode bodies 103A and 103B, the resistance is decreased and current efficiency is enhanced.

The strip parts 31ax, 32ax are positioned on the end surfaces of the winding element opposite to each other, the both end parts of the core 40 are brought into contact with or bonded to the first and second collecting plates 72, 62 respectively, or determine axial and relative positions of these collecting plates 72, 62 by being brought into contact with and bonded to them, and the collecting plates 72, 62 are electrically insulated. A tab-shaped collecting lead is not required, processing is easy and a manufacturing time can be shortened. In addition, its capacity density per unit volume is high.

Similarly, mutual rotation does not take place between the wall portion 207a of an insulation washer 207 and the proximal portion 205a of the center terminal 205. Furthermore, mutual rotation does not take place between a sealing plate 301 and the wall portion 207a of the insulation washer 207. Consequently, rotation does not take place between the positive electrode terminal 203 and the sealing plate 301 secured to an enclosure 21.
