摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the strength of an amorphous thermoplastic resin by blending the amorphous thermoplastic resin with glass fibers collected with a binder containing a plasticizer for the thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A plasticizer such as a phthalic acid ester in a coated solid content of 0.05-2% based on glass fibers is mixed with a binder containing 0.1-15wt.% of a coating film-forming agent such as an urethane agent or an epoxy agent, 0.05-2wt.% of a coupling agent such as silane coupling agent and 0.02-2wt.% of a lubricant such as polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. Glass fibers having a diameter of 3-25mum is coat-collected with the mixed binder, cut into a length of 1-10mm and, if necessary, mixed with a filler such as talc treated as above to provide a mixing material. 10-40wt.% of the mixing material is compounded with an amorphous thermoplastic resin such as a styrene resin, e.g. PS, or polycarbonate resin.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the title reinforced resin body provided with sufficient and uniform staining resistance by mixing the glass fiber bundle coated with hydrophosphorous acid (salt) into a molten thermoplastic resin, and forming the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophosphorous acid or its salt (e.g., calcium acid hypophos phite) is deposited on the surface of a glass fiber bundle by spraying, etc. The amt. is controlled to 0.05-1.5wt.%. The bundle is then mixed into the molten thermoplastic resin (except polyphenylene sulfide) such as thermoplastic polyester resin, polyolefin resin, and polyamide resin, and the mixture is formed to obtain a resin body. Since the reinforcing glass fiber bundle coated with hypophosphor ous acid (salt) is mixed into the resin, the obtained resin body is not stained by the heating, etc., when the resin is formed.

The coated filler is mixed into a melt of a thermoplastic resin (e.g. polypropylene resin or polyamide resin) except polyphenylene sulfide resin, and the mixture is then molded into a molded article with no discoloration.
