    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a secondary battery, capable of lessening an installation space of two safety valves for high pressure and low pressure.
      SOLUTION: A thin and flat part 16 is composed by forming a ring-shaped recessed groove 17 in a battery lid 12 to thin the thickness of the battery lid 12, and the inside region of the ring-shaped thin and flat part 16 is set as a first region. A thin and flat part 18 is composed by forming a ring-shaped recessed groove 19 in the first region to thin the thickness of the battery lid 12, and the inside region of the ring-shaped thin and flat part 18 is set as a second region. At least either one of the thin and flat part 16 or the thin and flat part 18 is cleaved in response to a pressure change in the inside of the battery to discharge inside gas to the outside.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation even if an impact such is impressed to an insulating material when dropped by mounting an exposed metal plate on the surface on the battery lid side of the insulating material and by connecting the metal plate with the battery lid through a welding hole drilled in the insulating material at the portion. SOLUTION: A metal plate 17 is mounted on a welding bole 12j on the outer side than a position where an inner terminal 16 is buried, on an insulating member 12. An connecting portion of the metal plate 17 is welded with a bottom plate 11b of a battery lid through the welding hole 12j. Thus, the left, end portion of the insulating member 12 is fixed to the battery lid 11, the insulating member 12 is fixed and mounted to the battery lid 11 at two points with a rivet 14 and the metal plate 17. Therefore, even when pressure in the battery rises to strongly flow high pressure gas into a recessed part in a diaphragm portion D, this reaction is prevented from deforming the insulating member 12 on the diaphragm portion D side downward. As a result, damage such as short in which an inner terminal 16 abuts to an electric generating element due to this deformation can be prevented.
