      CONSTITUTION: Gyroscopic sensor 605 is mounted on a vehicle, and an output from the gyroscopic sensor 605 is inputted into an electronic controller 600, and thereby a main transmission gear is shifted down when an inclination angle of the vehicle is more than a first one, while a speed change stage of an auxiliary transmission gear is set to a low speed one when the inclination angle of the vehicle is more than a second one. Hereby, ascent force of the vehicle and proper operation of an engine brake in all slopes can be assured, while a driver is liberated from troublesome operation of a shift lever.
