SOLUTION: This navigation device includes an input means 2 for inputting a telephone number; storage means 4, 5 and 7 for storing the position information, identification information and map data of the facility corresponding to the telephone number; an output means 6 for outputting the position information, identification information and map of the facility stored in the storage means; a control means 1 for searching from the storage means the position information and identification information of the facility corresponding to the input telephone number and for outputting to the output means the map corresponding to the identification information and position information of the searched facility; and means 1 and 2 for inputting the output facility as a destination. By simply inputting a familiar telephone number, the map with the facility thereon can be output and the facility can be easily set as the destination.

On the data base 10, a telephone number of a GS is provided as discriminating information, and the route guidance means 1 sets simply the starting point by the telephone number of the GS, and also, provided with a discriminating information receiver 4 by radio, and recognizes the present position by a receiving signal. According to this constitution, the starting place can be set by a simple input, and the starting place can be inputted by the telephone number being close by its side.

For the purpose, the steering sensor can be provided by utilizing the gap between the wheel 32 and turn signal switch assembly 33, so this steering sensor is easily mounted on an existent vehicle.

By this, the map drawing means 1 and 6 search the pattern discrimination information to acquire and draw the mark patterns of service marks corresponding to the searched pattern discrimination information.
