    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a passive shedding device in a water jet loom by applying a proper waterproof means to joint parts by a turnbuckle, a caulking member, etc., of wire ropes.
      SOLUTION: In the shedding device of the water jet loom, tubular covers 21 are attached to the turnbuckle 19 and the caulking member 20 being the joint parts between the wire ropes 6 and 7, small-diameter parts 25 and 26 at least at the sides of opening ends 23 and 24 of the tubular cover 21 are composed of elastic bodies and the inner diameters of the small-diameter parts 25 and 26 are made smaller than the outside dimensions of the wire ropes 6 and 7 so that the joint parts 19 and 20 are not exposed to high-humidity environments in the presence of water and penetration of scattering water is surely prevented. Consequently, the durability of the wire ropes 6 and 7 can be kept at the same level as that of wire rope applied in a loom using no water. Accordingly, the passive shedding device is used in a water jet loom without significantly changing conventional constitution.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use a blower of a water jet loom in both of moisture sucking and removing work and weft sucking work.
      SOLUTION: A control device 4 indicates switching of a switching valve 35 in seam processing. A motor 37 is connected to a frequency conversion circuit 45. The motor 37 is rotated at a comparatively high speed by high frequency output from the frequency conversion circuit 45 and generates strong suction force in a blower 38. A weft sucking device 32 sucks a weft tip end part Y4 of a weft inserting nozzle 25. When an electromagnetic solenoid 7 and a weft holding device 26 are switched to be ON, as a latching pin 8 and the weft holding device 26 release a weft Y1, so the weft sucking device 32 sucks a weft Y2 comprising a seam Y3 and on a thread winding surface 9. After completion of sucking the weft Y2, the latching pin 8 and the weft holding device 26 hold the weft Y2. The weft Y2 cut by an electroheating wire 48 is sucked by the blower 38 to complete the seam processing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joint treatment and a system therefor, wherein a joint is formed by joining the terminal end of the weft of a weft cheese in use and the initial end of the weft of a weft cheese to be used next, and to provide a yarn cutting system in the jet loom for improving the certainty of eliminating a joint.

Thereafter, a weft is held on a weft holder 27, and in such a condition that a hook pin 151 is hooked on a yarn wrapping surface 142, the control computer C makes a slow reverse at a specified magnitude of a loom driving motor M, resulting in the reverse rotation of a yarn-wrapped bobbin 141, which, in turn, results in that the weft lying upstream from the bobbin 141 is wrapped together with the joint Y3 on the yarn wrapping surface 142 and reserved.
