摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp for automobile capable of avoiding the shortage of rigidity around an aiming pivot by shortening a distance between the aiming pivots. SOLUTION: A reflector unit 20 having a discharge bulb 26 inserted therein is tilt-adjustably supported on a lamp body 10 by an aiming mechanism 30. A ballast cover 50 is stored on the inside of a lamp body lower surface wall 10a to form a ballast storage chamber B for storing a ballast circuit unit 40. The aiming pivot (ball joint 32) of the aiming mechanism is provided between the ballast cover 50 and the reflector unit 20. Since a distance between the members having the aiming pivot provided therein, i.e., the distance between the aiming pivots, is shorter than that in a conventional structure where the aiming pivot is provided between a lamp body rear surface wall 10b and the reflector unit 20, the length of a leg 27 formed on the reflector unit 20 side for supporting the ball part 33a of the ball joint 32 is shorter accordingly, and the rigidity of the portion around the aiming pivot (leg 27) is increased accordingly.

The mechanism includes a fulcrum that forms a tilt fulcrum of the reflector and includes a nut sliding guide (230A or 230B) integral with the lamp body and extending in parallel with an aiming screw (30) to carry and support a nut (130A) on a reflector side, in a longitudinal direction.

摘要： A vehicle headlamp includes right and left reflectors disposed in a lamp body and a ballast that allows a discharge bulb mounted in the reflector to continue a stable discharge. The pair of right and left reflectors is offset in the vertical direction. The right reflector is also offset in the fore-and-aft direction to be located behind the adjacent left reflector. The ballast is disposed to extend over enlarged spaces extending from below the right reflector. Thus, the center of gravity of the ballast is made close to the center of gravity of the headlamp excluding the ballast.
