摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method which are capable of efficiently supplying a component to a head by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In the component supplying device, a shaft motor and an XY stage 3 which move a chip tray 6 with a plurality of components 20 mounted thereon, move the chip tray 6 so that the component 20 of an object to be supplied is arranged at a component supplying position SP preset between an upper waiting position WP and a mounting position MP below the waiting position WP when supplying the component 20 to a head 2 while moving the chip tray 6 to a position which may not interfere movement between at least the waiting position WP and the mounting position MP of the head 2 when mounting the component 20 to a substrate 22 when the component 20 is not supplied to the head 20. Accordingly, the component 20 can be supplied to the head 2 by the movement of the shortest distance of the chip tray 6, and therefore, efficiency is extremely improved.
