    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high throughput function evaluation method for attaining the accuracy of evaluation in high reliability despite of the presence of fluctuation characteristic to biological evaluation system and the use of small number of data.
      SOLUTION: A functionality-unknown material such as a food material component is mixed with human-originated culture cells to obtain a cell extract corresponding to the food material as a test sample. The test sample is subjected to an evaluation array equipped with a plurality of wells having different biological function-evaluation abilities. In the evaluation test, the expression quantities of biomarkers corresponding to antibodies are measured by immunoassays based on antigen-antibody reactions. The functionality level of the functionality-unknown specimen is estimated by comparing the obtained expression quantities of the biomarkers of the functionality-unknown material with an imaginary data set corresponding to a functionality value of a functionality-known material and expanding the obtained data set by boot strap method. The proper evaluation functionality-unknown material includes biological resources involving food materials and other chemical substances.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and simple differential gel electrophoretic method for protein expression analysis having high detection sensitivity and repeatability, and having high labeling efficiency. SOLUTION: This differential gel two-dimensional electrophoretic method for protein expression analysis is widely used for comparing two or more kinds of proteins with each other. At least two kinds of protein specimens are heat-denatured by using guanidine hydrochloride before they are two-dimensionally electrophoresed. Desirably, denaturation temperature is within the range of 96-100°C, with 98°C being suitable. Likewise, it is desirable that denaturation time is of the order of 2-3 minutes in the case of 98°C. The other conditions are based on a differential gel two-dimensional electrophoretic method of common use. In this method, protein detection sensitivity is high since such heat-denaturation makes it easy for coloring matter to covalently bond to a desired part of protein. Since coloring matter bonding efficiency does not depend on a three-dimensional structure, labeling efficiency is stochastically equalized among respective protein specimens, making it possible to enhance reproducibility.
