    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an OCDM-PON which does not use a FBG. SOLUTION: In a passive optical network system, as an optical BPSK modulation is conducted (33) using a diffusion code series of a peculiar pattern allocated to each subscriber in a communication descent sender (11); a spectrum-diffused signal light is transmitted, the BPSK modulation is conducted (40) using a subscriber code series peculiar to the subscriber to an input signal light in a subscriber side receiver (16), and only the signal light is reproduced for the subscriber. Accordingly, OCDM encoding and decoding can be achieved without using the FBG. As a result, an optical network system is constituted suitable for transmitting the signal light for a broadcasting and the signal light for the communication by multiplexing them.
