摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth sintered magnet used for a motor, etc., that does not cause hydrogen brittleness even in a hydrogen atmosphere, by a method for manufacturing an R 2 Fe 14 B sintered magnet. SOLUTION: R (R is at least one kinds of rare earth elements selected out of Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb and Ho) of 20-35 wt.%, Co of 15 wt.% or less, B of 0.2-8 wt.%, at least one kinds of element, selected out of Ni, Nb, Al, Ti, Zr, Cr, V, Mn, Mo, Si, Sn, Ga, Cu and Zn, of 8 wt.% or less as an additive, and Fe and unavoidable impurities in residual part constitute an alloy. The alloy is fused and cast, and then crushed, finely pulverized, molded in a magnetic field, sintered and heat-treated in this order to make the sintered magnet. Further the sintered magnet is cut and/or ground to work a surface thereof, and then metal-plated. Then it is heat-treated at 80-700°C for 10 minutes to 50 hours. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

SOLUTION: This R-Fe-B permanent magnet (where, R denotes at least one kind of rare-earth element, including Sc and Y) is covered with a metal coating film. The coating film is composed of a first plated metal coated film, having a thickness of 0.1-1.0 μm and substantially containing no pores, and a second plated metal coating film, including pores having major axes of 0.1-1.5 μm in length at their cross sections.

This rare-earth permanent magnet provides the high corrosion resistance, low dusting properties, environmental friendliness and adhesive properties to the rare-earth permanent magnet. SOLUTION: In a rare earth sintered magnet, comprising 20-35 wt.% of R (R is one or more than one kind of rare earth element selected from among Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb and Ho), 15 wt.% or lower of Co, 0.2-8 wt.% of B, 8 wt.% or lower of at least one kind of element selected from among as an additive from Ni, Nb, Al, Ti, Zr, Cr, V, Mn, Mo, Si, Sn, Ga, Cu and Zn, and the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities, a copper plating layer is formed, as a metal plating layer, on the surface of the rare earth sintered magnet and a nickel plating layer is formed thereon, and the rare earth sintered magnet having a metal oxide layer and/or a metal nitride layer via the metal plating layer is used in a hydrogen atmosphere, under a pressure exceeding 0.1 MPa.
