摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing refractory by which the refractory having excellent physical property such as strength is produced in a short period of time by easily heating a formed material up to the inside for a short period of time in a state where the effect of oxygen is eliminated. SOLUTION: A refractory composition prepared by containing refractory aggregate and a binder is formed. The formed material is set in a heating container and heated by blowing steam in the container. The steam has high latent heat and the latent heat is transferred to the formed body when the steam is brought into contact with the surface of the formed body to drastically raise the temperature of the surface of the formed body and then, the inside of the formed material is rapidly heated to produce the refractory with excellent productivity in a short period of time. By blowing the steam into the container, air in the container is discharged by the steam to form an atmosphere where oxygen is not present and to carry out a heat treatment in such a state where the effect of oxygen is eliminated.
