    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image extracting method that increase the degree of freedom to area extraction and also can easily extract an image area by selecting the image area arbitrarily by alternately using real space and color space by a user, and to provide an image processor and a recording medium on which a program is recorded. SOLUTION: An area extracting part 10 of an image processor 1 is provided with a range designation processing part 11, a data color accumulation processing part 12, a real space selection processing part 13, a color space selection processing part 14, a closed curve processing part 15, a partial determination processing part 16 for performing partial determination processing, an operation processing part 17 for processing a user's operation instruction by an operation panel, a display processing part 18 for performing display processing of data stored in an original image buffer 21 and in a color space buffer 22, the original image buffer 21, the color space buffer 22, a selected area buffer 23 and a partial determination area buffer 24, and selects a range including an image area desired to be extracted by using both displays of pieces of image data reflecting in each other and a color space distribution coinciding with the image data and extracts the image area.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable correct reading of image data according to the characteristics of an original image, even if the original image includes a very highly lustrous image such as an image of a metallic color. SOLUTION: An original 10 is irradiated with each of lights of a first light source 21 and a second light source 22 from a first irradiation direction A1 and a second irradiation direction A2, and a reflection light reflecting from the original in a predetermined direction C is guided to a CCD unit 50 for performing photoelectric conversion, so that image data are obtained. At this time, the intensity of light in the irradiation direction A2 is adjusted so as to be weaker than the intensity of light in the irradiation direction A1 by an optical amount adjusting means 23 provided on an optical path in the second irradiation direction A2, and the light source of light irradiation is switched between the light sources 21 and 22 by turning on/off them. Moreover, the image data of the original are composed on the basis of two types of image data generated from the reflection light of the light of each of the irradiation directions A1 and A2.
