First, the dot patterns recorded on the recording medium based on an input image are optically read (S304). Then, respective amounts of deviation of position in the main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction in the dot patterns recorded on the recording medium are obtained (S307, S308) based on the read pattern and inputted pattern corresponding thereto. The recording position of the dot patterns in the recording medium is corrected in real time based on the amount of deviation of position (S309, S310).
