摘要： In an image recording apparatus in which two sheets of recording paper are retained on a transfer drum, reading of the image of an original by a reading optical system is started at the leading edge of a signal L-ITOPA obtained as a result of synchronizing a signal D-ITOPA, which is obtained by applying a time delay T to a signal ITOPA representing the retention position of the first sheet of recording paper, to a line synchronizing signal BD produced as a count signal by an address counter for the sub-scan direction. The image is stored in a page memory and recorded on the first sheet of recording paper. Then, at the leading edge of a signal ITOP obtained by applying the time delay T to a signal ITOPB representing the retention position of the second sheet of recording paper, read-out of the stored image from the page memory is started and the image is recorded on the second sheet of recording paper. As a result, once images separated by color have been written in memory, a displacement in the recording position of each separate color image is no more than the equivalent of one line even when the images are read out of the memory and recorded on recording paper.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises a scanner to scan an image of an original, a reading unit such as an image pickup device to read the image of the original which is scanned by the scanner, a memory to store the image of the original read by the reading unit, an image forming unit to form a visible image onto a recording medium on the basis of the image signal from the reading unit and the image signal from the memory, a holding member which can hold a plurality of transfer sheets and is used to transfer the visible image formed on the recording medium onto the transfer sheets held, and a controller for controlling in a manner such that in case of transferring the same image onto each of the plurality of transfer sheets, the plurality of transfer sheets are held to the holding member at irregular intervals and the visible image is formed for the first transfer sheet on the basis of the image signal from the reading unit and the visible image is formed for the second and subsequent transfer sheets on the basis of the image signal from the memory. The image forming unit has a developing unit including a plurality of developers containing developing agents of different colors, and the transfer unit overlaps and transfers the visible images developed by the developing agents of the different colors onto the transfer sheet.

摘要： It is an object to stably form a color image of a high quality without a color deviation by completing a phase adjustment in a short time so that a reference signal of a main scanning control system and a reference signal of a sub scanning control system have a predetermined phase. To accomplish the object, an output timing of an ITOP signal which is generated by a sensor 9 which detects a predetermined position of a photosensitive drum 5 which is rotated is compared with an output timing of a virtual main scanning sync signal BD' of a polygon mirror 3 for scanning a light beam onto the photosensitive drum 5 in the main scanning direction, thereby deciding an output timing of a reference clock SP. On the basis of the decided output timing, a PLL circuit 116 controls a rotational speed of a polygon motor 117 so that a difference between the reference clock SP which is outputted by a counter 83 and the ITOP signal have a predetermined phase difference.

In a character thickness determining circuit 114 of a black character determination unit 113, the thickness of characters and lines are determined based on RGB signals. Further, character/line outline information is obtained at an edge detector 115, and chromaticity information is obtained at a chromaticity determining unit 116. When an image processing is performed based on the combination of the outline information and the chromaticity information, a thickness determination signal is corrected so that the thickness of the character, lines, and like changes continuously.
