    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope which can be operated while observing an endoscope image by a user. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope 1 includes an insertion part 10 in which an illumination part 12 having an illumination LED arranged at the top end 11 thereof and a C-MOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) 13 are disposed and an operation part 15 in which an LCD monitor is disposed as a display part. The monitor is a monitor with a backlight 20 in which an LED backlight 21 is arranged. A battery 17 for supplying electric power to the illumination part 12, the C-MOS 13 and the monitor 20, is arranged in the operation part 14. The battery 17 is connected to the illumination part 12 and the C-MOS 13 by a power supply cable 18. A current restriction circuit 19 for preventing the supply of an excess current is provided in the power supply cable 18. The monitor 20 is driven by the electric power supplied from the battery 17 through the current restriction circuit 19 and an image signal transmission cable 22 extending from the C-MOS 13 is connected to the monitor 20.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an endoscope by which a proper light distribution characteristic can be obtained by arranging at least two or more kinds of illuminating means different in a light distribution characteristic in an endoscope tip part. SOLUTION: In an endoscope device, one end of an inserting part 5 inserted into an observing object is connected to a tip part 11. An LED 13 as an illuminating means to illuminate the observing object and an objective optical system 14 to form an image of the observing object are arranged in the tip part 11, and an image pickup means 15 composed of a solid image pickup element (CCD) to convert a formed image into an electric signal is arranged on the rear end of this objective optical system 14. The LED 13 is composed of two LEDs 13a and 13b, and the first LED 13a is bright in a central part, but lacks in illuminance of a peripheral part, that is, an LED of a spot illuminating type where a lens is attached to a tip front face is used, and the second LED 13b is bright in a peripheral part, but lacks in illuminance of a central part, that is, an LED of a diffusive illuminating type where a lens is not attached to a tip front face is used.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope satisfying a safety standard condition with low power consumption. SOLUTION: In a distal end part 11 of the endoscope 1, an illuminating part 21 with an illuminating LED and a C-MOS 23 to take an observation image illuminated by the illuminating light are disposed. A battery 24 is arranged in an operating part 15 to supply power to the illuminating part 21 and the C-MOS 23. An image output terminal part 25 connected with an end part of a video cable 16 to output an image signal to a display device 2 is set on the base end part of the operating part 15. The battery 24, the illuminating part 21, and the C-MOS 23 are connected by a power supplying cable 26 branching into an illumination power cable 27 and an imaging element power cable 28. A current limiting circuit 29 is set midway the power supplying cable 26 to prevent excess current from flowing through the illuminating part 21 and the C-MOS 23.
