摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect neutral fail on condition that speed of a vehicle is sufficient and an output shaft is rotated at considerable numbers of rotation. SOLUTION: In a control device for an automatic transmission comprising a speed change mechanism outputting to an output shaft by changing rotation of an input shaft, a plurality of engaging elements engaged and disengaged for materializing each speed change gear of the speed change mechanism, a plurality of hydraulic servo units engaging and disengaging respective engaging elements by supplying and discharging output oil pressure in proportion to an electric signal supplied to a solenoid valve, and input shaft and output shaft revolutions detecting devices detecting the number of rotation for an input shaft and output shaft respectively, when a command materializing one speed change gear is transmitted, the control device determines in the natural fail if the number of rotation of the input shaft is larger than a threshold prepared in proportion to the number of rotation of the output shaft. SOLUTION: This control device for an automatic transmission is provided with a transmission mechanism for changing speed of the rotation of an input shaft and for outputting it to an output shaft, a plurality of engaging elements to be engaged/disengaged to form each gear shift stage of the transmission mechanism, a plurality of hydraulic servo devices for engaging/disengaging the engaging elements by supplying/discharging the output oil pressure corresponding to an electric signal supplied to the solenoid, and a failure detecting means for detecting a failure. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a vehicle, when a failure is detected in an automatic transmission and the failed part can not be located, by prohibiting automatic transmission control, and to enable the vehicle to run by locating the failed part after the vehicle stops, and establishing a transmission stage wherein the vehicle can run. SOLUTION: This control device prohibits the automatic transmission control when a failure detection means detects the failure. After the vehicle stops, the device commands establishment of an emergency running low-speed stage whose gear ratio is the smallest in low-speed stages. If the transmission is not neutral after the command, all solenoids are turned off. If the transmission is neutral, a second engagement element is engaged, always engaged when a high-speed stage is established, and all solenoids are turned off to establish an emergency running high-speed stage having the largest gear ratio in the transmission stages where a first engagement element is released. When a command is sent to engage a high speed range frictional engagement element continuously engaged and coupled to the input shaft in a high speed range, out of the frictional engagement elements, a determination is made whether or not the rotating speed of the input shaft is not lower than an allowable value set in correspondence with the rotating speed of the output shaft in every speed range, and if it is not lower than the allowable value, a command is sent to disengage the high speed range frictional engagement element.
