摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for forming a through-via in a multilayered substrate having alternating dielectric and conductive layers, wherein the through-via has smaller entrance diameter variability, exit diameter variability, lower average via resistance value and reduced via resistance value variability. SOLUTION: A laminated substrate 1 provided with: a core layer 2; and at least one single layer formed on the core layer and each having bottom dielectric layers 3, 4 and upper conductive layers 5, 6 formed on the bottom dielectric layers is provided. During the formation of a through-via 12 in the laminated substrate, at least one via is formed; wherein the flatness of the bottom side face of the laminated substrate is retained, each elongates through the single layer on the outermost side, each has an entrance aperture in the conductive layer of the single layer on the outermost layer, each inlet aperture has entrance width of 75 μm or less, and the range of a difference between the inlet area and the outlet area of the through-via having an aspect ratio of 10:1 or more is about 10 μm 2 . SOLUTION: The jacket material for all forms of electromagnetic energy conductors comprises a silicone material imbibed into a porous polymer such as expanded polytetrafluoroethylene to produce a flexible and durable composite material. When applied as a cable jacket 30, the composite material produces dramatic improvement over the use of silicone alone, particularly in the areas of load sharing, resistance to fatigue from repeated flexure, and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The ability of this material to withstand repeated autoclave cycles without degradation is particularly suitable for cable jacketing in biomedical applications.
