    • PURPOSE:To obtain a material superior in dyability, water resistance, adhesion to a base, etc. as compared with the case of using a cationized PVA by using a specified PVA modified with both hydrophobic groups and cationic groups. CONSTITUTION:A layer of a photosensitive resin compsn. formed on a base incorporates a diazo resin and a modified PVA havig both hydrophobic groups each consisting of a hydrocarbon group having >=4C and cationic groups in the molecule. A preferable modified PVA is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer contg. a hydrophobic group and a monomer contg. a cationic group with vinyl acetate or the like vinyl esters of lower fatty acids, and modifying the obtained copolymer. As said hydrophobic group of hydrocarbon, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkenyl, etc. are used.

The composition is applied to a support and dried to obtain a colored image forming material.
