摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the service breakdown voltage of an electrolytic capacitor without damaging the conductivity and moreover,, to make the capacitor stand the wide-range service temperature and to improve the high-temperature life of the capacitor by a method wherein an electrolytic solution, which is formed by dissolving a 3-tertiary butyl hexanoic acid and/or its salts in an organic polar solvent, is used for the electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: A 3-tertiary butyl hexanoic acid and/or 1 to 25wt.% of its salts, preferably 3 to 20wt.% of its salts, are dissolved in 99 to 75% of an organic solvent, preferably 97 to 80% of an organic solvent, and an electrolytic solution is prepared. As this result, a change in the specific resistance of an electrolytic capacitor is little at 105 deg.C, the capacitor shows good characteristics and the capacitor can obtain superior electrical characteristics and moreover, the maintenance of the stable characteristics of the capacitor is possible extending over a long period of time even under a high temperature of 105 deg.C.

CONSTITUTION:Using a gamma-butyrolactone as its main solvent a carboxylate is added to the tertiary amine salt of the carboxylic acid. Moreover, a carboxylic anhydride and water are added. Here, the carboxylate and/or the carboxylic acid anhydride are/is respectively added to the tertiary amine salt of the carboxylic acid at 1 to 25wt.%. The water is added to the tertiary amine salt of the carboxylic acid at 1 to 15wt.%. Thereby, an electrolyte, which has less change in its specific resistance than that in the specific resistance of a conventional electrolyte and has a good thermal stability, can be obtained.

This is put in a battery can and a positive.negative electrodes leads 11, 12 are led out, and then, a free acid content is adsorbed by Al2O3, etc., to remove it and a nonaqueous electrolyte of 100ppm or less is injected into the can and a cell over 7 fixed through an insulating sealing gasket 6 to make a nonaqueous electrolyte cell. Lowering of capacity to be caused thereby can be prevented by lowering a free acid content so that a good charge-and-discharge cycle characteristic can be demonstrated.

As said organic polar solvent, e.g., gamma-butyrolactone, methyl cellosolve or the like is used singly or in the form of a mixture.

The silicone antifoamer is preferably added approximately 5-300 ppm to an electrolytic solution of 100 wt.%, more preferably, approximately 30-100 ppm. When it is less than 5 ppm, desirable adding effects are difficult to obtain, and when it is over 300 ppm, solubility is lowered.
