    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic motor which can be rotated and driven with an ample driving force by generating a high electric field inside vacuum.
      SOLUTION: In this electrostatic motor, a disc-like stator S and a disc-like rotor R are provided opposite in a vacuum container 11. In the stator S, first electrodes 34A and second electrodes 34B are alternately arranged in a circumferential direction, as provided each on electrode supporters 31 and 32, and being electrically insulated from each other by an insulator 33. In the rotor R, first electrodes 44A and second electrodes 44B are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction, being provided each on electrode supporters 41 and 42 and electrically insulated from each other by an insulator 43. The first electrodes 34A and the second electrodes 34B on the rotor S side are arranged at an interval of two or more columns so as to be spaced at a predetermined distance from the center of a rotary shaft 1; and first electrodes 44A and the second electrodes 44B on the rotor R side are arranged so as to be spaced at a predetermined distance from the center of the rotary shaft 1, and positioned at an intermediate portions the columnns of the first and second electrodes 34A and 34B of the stator S side.

Since the counter 3 is bent and vibrated except the longitudinal vibration of the vibrators 6, the intrinsic vibrating frequency of the bending vibration of the coupler 3 is equalized to the exciting frequency. In this manner, the lateral vibration is increased to excite the unit 2.
