    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an object staying in a wide site such as a road, intersection, crossover, airport, or other flat grounds by extending the detecting distance range to the object. SOLUTION: The object detector as an electro-optical range finder comprises a light emitting means 1 for emitting a modulated light with a modulated brightness toward an optional direction, a light receiving means for receiving a reflected light 6 of the modulated light 5 emitted to the optional direction by the light emitting means 1, and reflected by the surface of the object 11 present within the emitting range, and an information processing means 20 for detecting, when the reflected light 6 is received by the light receiving means, the presence or position of the object 11 in the emitting range based on the received information and the information of the modulated light 5 emitted by the light emitting means 1. The light receiving means has: a plurality of light receiving optical lenses 4 arranged so that the respective focal points are positioned to a common position, and the respective optical axes are turned to different positions within the emitting range; and a light receiving element 2 disposed in the common position.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional, compact, and inexpensive light wave range finder that illuminates a target reflection object with visible light and measures distance, an altitude, and a lateral angle.
      SOLUTION: Outgoing light (20) of one visible light semiconductor laser light source (1) is allowed to pass through a shielding cylinder (9) for preventing stray light for successively refracting by a deformation triangular prism (7) and an erecting prism (6), and an optical focus is adjusted by a focusing lens (8) for composing a collimation telescope to illuminate a measuring point of the target reflection object (30) with light by condensing the outgoing light (20) from an objective lens (11), thus manufacturing the compact, light, and inexpensive light wave range finder by using two semiconductor laser light sources as compared with a system where one semiconductor laser light source is used for measuring distance and the other is used for irradiating the target reflection object with light.
