摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing fine particles of a noble metal or a base metal supported on a solid carrier in a highly dispersed colloidal state in high uniformity, its use and its simple production process. SOLUTION: This metallic fine particle/solid carrier composition contains a noble metal such as gold, silver or a platinum-group element or a base metal such as nickel, cobalt or copper supported on a carrier composed of a swelling laminar silicate such as smectite clay or swelling mica. The composition can be produced by dissolving a metal compound in a solvent and reducing the metal compound with a reducing agent in the solvent containing a swelling laminar silicate in dispersed state, thereby depositing the metal in the form of fine particles supported on the carrier.

CONSTITUTION:A chlorine-contg. resin (e.g. a vinyl chloride resin) is compounded with an organometallic compd. of formula I wherein X, Y, and Z are each a 7C or higher carboxylic acid residue; and M is a divalent metal atom as a stabilizer. Examples of the carboxylic acid residue represented by X, Y, or Z are resin acid residues derived from gum and wood rosins, aliph. monocarboxylic acid residues derived from n-octanoic and palmitic acids, and an arom. carboxylic acid residue derived from benzoic acid. Examples of the metal atom represented by M are Mg, Ca, and Zn. The compd. of formula I is produced by reacting a mixture of metal salts of a carboxylic acid of formula II wherein R is a 3C or higher carboxylic acid residue with a boron compd. of formula III wherein R is 4C or lower alkyl.

This application liquid is applied to a support such as synthetic paper or plastic film, and the coat is dried to obtain a laminated recording layer for a thermosensitive recording material.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent fog and to enhance the storage stability of a developed color image, in a thermal recording material containing a leuco dye and a developer as main components, by using a double salt represented by a specific chemical formula and having an m.p. within a specific temp. range as a developer. CONSTITUTION:As a developer of a thermal recording material, a double salt represented by general formula (wherein n is an integer of 1 or 2, each of aromatic rings may have one or more group selected from an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group and an aryl group and A is a nitrogen- containing org. basic compound) is used. This double salt has an m.p. within the range of 70-250 deg.C and, as the nitrogen-containing basic compound, an amine compound, a hydrazine compound or a guanidine compound is used. The double salt is obtained by reacting 2mol of a chlorosalicylic acid derivative such as 3-chlorrosalicylic acid, 1mol of boric anhydride and 1mol of the nitrogen- containing org. basic compound corresponding to one mol of basic nitrogen.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain titled pure-white compound in high yield and purity without producing colored product, by using hydroquinone and a benzyl halide as raw materials, completely dissolving the compounds in methanol, adding a base to the solution and reacting the components with each other. CONSTITUTION:Hydroquinone and a benzyl halide are used at a molar ratio (benzyl halide/hydroquinone) of 0.5-1.5, preferably 0.8-1.2 and are completely dissolved in methanol. A base is added to the resultant solution and made to react at 20-80 deg.C, preferably 65-76 deg.C. The precipitate is separated and the objective compound is separated from the obtained liquid phase. The methanol used in the above process is preferably subjected to the removal of dissolved oxygen in the methanol e.g. by bubbling an inert gas such as nitrogen. The amount of methanol is preferably 250-700g per 1mol. of hydroquinone.
