    • PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate measurement of flow rate over a wide range, by arranging an obstacle placed at the center in a tube body in the shape with the width increasing continuously from upstream so that the passage may be choked gradually toward both sides thereof. CONSTITUTION:This vortex flowmeter comprises a square tube body 11, shape- converting sections 12 and 13, flanges 14 and 15, an obstacle 16 and a vortex train frequency detector 17. As a fluid 18 is chocked smoothly with the obstacle 16 toward both sides thereof, stable vortex trains are generated alternately behind it without causing any waste turbulence in the flow. Also, for example, with concave surfaces 20L and 20R on the back of the obstacle 16, the negative pressure will increases at these parts so much as to allow the generation of a large vortex. This enables the measurement of the frequency of vortex trains at a high accuracy leading to a highly accurate measurement of flow rate over a wide range.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a melting furnace and to obtain a casting product which is free from pinholes and cavities and has stable quality by housing a metal ingot to be melted into the space part of a casting mold, heating the ingot to melt from the outside and applying ultrasonic oscillation thereto. CONSTITUTION:The metal ingot to be melted is housed into the space part 4 of the casting mold 1 and a high-frequency coil 11 is lowered and is set to the outer periphery of the casting mold 1. An ultrasonic oscillator and a high-frequency power source are then turned on. The metal itself is heated to melt and the fluidized Al is ultrasonically oscillated by an ultrasonic oscillator element 24 by which the molten Al is packed to all the corners of the space part 4. Further, the Al in a riser 5 is melted to flow to the space part 4. The generated gas is vented from a vent hole 6 by a vacuum pump 8. The molten metal solidifies and the casting product is obtd. when the ultrasonic oscillator and the high-frequency power source are turned off after the specified time. The equipment is simplified in this way and the casting product which is free from the pinholes and cavities and has the stable quality is obtd. in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To measure a flow rate with high accuracy over a wide range by sectioning rectangularly a tube body where fluid flows, providing an obstacle which has a rectangular surface in the tube body, and generating a stable vortex street. CONSTITUTION:The tube body 11 is sectioned rectangularly, the obstacle 16 which has the rectangular surface for reducing the fluid in area to both right and left sides is arranged in the tube body, and an exciter 19 is fitted through an arm 20. Area reduction parts 18L and 18R formed on both right and left sides of the obstacle 16 are made rectangular having constant width (d) without reference to their positions and the obstacle 16 is vibrated by the exciter 19 as shown by an arrow 10 to vary the width (d) of the area reduction part 18L and 18R finely. Consequently, the condition of vortex street generation is the same at the center part and upper and lower end parts of the obstacle 1 and the stable vortex street is generated at its downstream side. Further, the vibration of the obstacle 16 is controlled automatically by using the output of a vortex detector 17 to make the vibration frequency resonate with the generation frequency of the vortex street, thereby generating the large vortex street.

    • PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate measurement of flow rate over a wide range, by arranging a fluid throttle section formed toward both sides of an obstacle having a tube body with a square section to be square in the shape with a fixed width regardless of position so as to generate a stable vortex flow. CONSTITUTION:Flanges 14 and 15 are provided at both ends of a tube body 11 with a rectangular, square section or the like through shape-converting sections 12 and 13 to be connected to a fluid piping with a circular section. Then, an obstacle 16 which has a rectangular surface to choke the fluid toward both sides thereof is arranged at the interval center of the tube body 11. A vortex train frequency detector 17 detects the frequency of a vortex train generated on the downstream of the obstacle 16. With such as arrangement, the conditions are the same in the generation of vortex trains at the center and at upper and lower ends of the obstacle 16 so that stable vortex trains will be formed on the downstream of the obstacle 16. Thus, highly accurate measurement of flow rate can be done over a wide range by detecting the frequency of the vortex trains the obtained.
