摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a bearing assembly that is retained in an axial direction by a retaining plate fixed by a fastening means acting between a casing forming a bearing housing and the retaining plate.SOLUTION: The method has: a step of mounting the retaining plate 6 on an outer race of a bearing 1; a step of forming a shoulder on an outer edge of an outer race of the bearing 1, while the bearing is retained in the axial direction by the retaining plate 6 fixed by the fastening means 9 acting between the casing 3 with the bearing housing 2 and the retaining plate 6, when the bearing 1 is fitted into the bearing housing 2 afterwards; a step of forming grooves on the shoulder; a step of forming the retaining plate 6 by blanking a hole on a strip material; a step of blanking a fixed rim on the retaining plate 6 in an arc around the hole; and a step of mounting the retaining plate 6 on the outer race rotatably to the outer race by positioning the hole of the retaining plate 6 on the shoulder.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing assembly capable of axially retaining a bearing within a casing in such a way as to attain compactification in the axial direction and high economy and reliability. SOLUTION: Mounting of the bearing 1 can be achieved by pressing in a retaining plate 6 on a shoulder part so that the retaining plate 6 can rotate against an outer race. The bearing 1 is then supported on a shaft 4 and inserted into a compact casing 3, so that the outer case is guided to a housing 2 formed on an end wall of the casing 3. Then, the retaining plate 6 is engaged by a screw 9; therefore when it is necessary to make a fastening boss 7 concentric with a through-hole 8, the rotation thereof is possible, so that the retaining plate 6 is pressed in the axial direction against the outer race.
