    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid, accurate and genetic engineering method for detecting producing ability of a mycotoxin cyclopiazonic acid in strains of the genus Aspergillus or the genus Penicillium etc., and to provide a transformant not producing cyclopiazonic acid, a nerve toxin, or its precursor cyclo-acetoacetyl-L-tryptophan (CAT), since some strains of Aspergillus oryzae used for production of soy source, miso (fermented bean paste) or Japanese sake, or Penicillium camenberti used for cheese production produce cyclopiazonic acid.SOLUTION: Provided is a genetic engineering method for preparing a transformant of the genus Aspergillus or the genus Penicillium transformed not to produce cyclopiazonic acid, where the transformant includes a strain not producing CAT and a strain not expressing polyketide synthase/non-ribosomal peptide synthetase. Also provided is a transformant not producing cyclopiazonic acid obtained by the preparation method.
