SOLUTION: When the glass tube 1 of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp is inserted into a large cylindrical portion 11, a lead 3a of an electrode 3 of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp is introduced into an electrode welding portion 12b by a taper of an electrode introduction portion 12a. After the lead 3a is introduced into the electrode welding portion 12b, the lead 3a is fixed to the base of the electrode welding portion 12b by performing welding at the electrode welding portion 12b. During this welding, the whole glass tube 1 is guided by the taper of the large cylindrical portion 11, and even at the electrode welding portion 12b, the precision of the mounting position on the base of the glass tube can be improved without inclining the base, since the lead 3a of the electrode 3 is guided on the whole circumference.
