SOLUTION: The double cuff for measuring blood pressure is equipped with the avascularization bag for the avascularization of the artery of a predetermined region of an ankle or the like and the bag 26 for detecting pulse waves which is arranged to the inner peripheral surface of the bag for avascularization so as to be positioned between a living body and the bag for avascularization when the bag for the avascularization is mounted on the predetermined region and brought to predetermined inner pressure to detect the pulse waves of the artery. A longitudinal core plate 42 harder than the bag 26 for detecting pulse waves is provided in the bag 26 for detecting pulse waves in the longitudinal direction of the bag 26. By this constitution, the bag 26 for detecting pulse waves is prevented from bending when the double cuff is mounted on the living body.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arteriosclerotic degree evaluating apparatus for easily evaluating the degree of arteriosclerosis. SOLUTION: A cuff 12 integrally including first and second pressure bags 18, 20 is mounted on an arm part 14. A pulse wave in the arm is detected by the first pressure bag 18, while hemostasis is performed in the mounting part with the second pressure bag 20. Then the arm pulse wave becomes the synthetic wave of a travelling wave with a reflection wave which is generated in the mounting part by the second pressure bag 20. The reflection wave becomes larger, and its speed becomes faster according as an artery becomes harder. When an arteriosclerotic information calculating means 78 calculates a time difference ▵T and a strength ratio R between the peak of a travelling wave component and the peak of a reflection wave component, the time difference ▵T and the strength ratio R are changed by the degree of arteriosclerotic hardness, so that the degree of arteriosclerosis is evaluated.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure monitoring device with which abnormality in blood pressure is precisely discriminated. SOLUTION: A blood pressure value is measured by using a cuff, and an estimated blood pressure value EBP is calculated by each pulse from a pulse wave propagation velocity PWV which is the propagating velocity of a pulse wave within a living body. When a highest blood pressure value measured by using the cuff is set to be a reference blood pressure value BPst, the abnormality in blood pressure is discriminated based on a fact that a first blood pressure value difference ΔEBP1 expressing the variation in the estimated blood pressure value EBP with respect to the reference blood pressure value BPst exceeds a prescribed first abnormality discrimination value TH1. The first abnormality discrimination value TH1 in this case is set from a highest blood pressure value measured actually with the cuff by using corresponding relations 86 and 88 by which a different first abnormality discrimination value TH1 is fixed corresponding to the reference blood pressure value BPst. Since the different first abnormality discrimination value TH1 is set corresponding to the highest blood pressure value measured actually by using the cuff, the first abnormality discrimination value TH1 becomes a proper value.
