    • PURPOSE:To examine the abnormality in the nostril on the basis of the color of a coloration area, by bonding a temp.-sensitive liquid crystal sheet, which is formed by successively applying a temp.-sensitive liquid crystal layer and a black paint layer to a transparent plastic film, to a support substrate in such a state that the transparent plastic sheet is turned to the outside and impinging the exhalation from nostril of an examinee on the temp.-sensitive liquid crystal sheet. CONSTITUTION:A temp.-sensitive liquid crystal sheet, which is formed by successively applying a temp.-sensitive liquid crystal layer 6 and a black paint layer 7 to a transparent plastic film 1, is bonded to a support substrate 9 in such a state that the transparent plastic film is turned to the outside. The exhalation from the nostril of an examinee is impinged on the temp.-sensitive liquid crystal sheet and the abnormality in the nostril is examined on the basis of the pattern or color of a coloration area. A liquid crystal is composed of a cholesteric liquid crystal that is the ester of a cholesterol derivative, having a thermochromic characteristic or a chiral nematic liquid crystal wherein asymmetric carbon is introduced into a nematic liquid crystal and, from the aspect of the operability and stability in manufacturing, a microencapsulated liquid crystal is desirable. A heat insulating material layer 8 is mounted between the temp.-sensitive liquid crystal sheet and the support substrate 9 in order to hold a developed color image for a long time and, as the heat insulating material, a foamed molding material, for example, composed of polyethylene or polyurethane is used.

    • PURPOSE:To make the handling of materials easy and widen their use range by sealing heat storage materials having large heat of fusion and phase change heat into microcapsules. CONSTITUTION:Sealing heat storage materials such as natural wax, petroleum wax, the hydrate of inorganic compound, etc., changing their phases into microcapsules allows the surfaces of those materials to be used as the microcapsules in a solid phase even when the materials are in a liquid phase. Sealing the heat storage materials into fine capsules makes heat absorption and heat radiating area larger and the efficiency of heat storage and heat release is remarkably improved. The heat absorbing and releasing effect of the heat storage materials can be increased by adding metal fine fragments and/or powder into the heat storage materials or containing the metal fine fragments and/or powder in the inside of the capsules. Thereby, the handling of the heat storage materials is made easy and the materials can be used in a wide range such as the interior material of buildings, clothes, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To form a contrast image by changing the polarity orientation of magnetic powder in a microcapsule from vertical to horizontal or vice versa. CONSTITUTION:A microcapsule coating layer 5 is formed by enclosing the flaky magnetic powder 3 in a nonmagnetic body 1. A magnetic device which uses a permanent magnet is used as a means which orients the magnetic powder 3 in the microcapsule 4 and a means which forms an image on a display surface. Therefore, when the magnetic device is moved over the entire display surface, the long axis of the magnetic powder in the microcapsule is oriented vertically and external light incident on the display surface is absorbed to make the surface black. An image is drawn on the black display surface with the tip of the rod-shaped magnetic device and then the long axis of the magnetic powder in the microcapsule at the part is oriented horizontally to reflect the incident light and generate a reflection color on the black display surface, thereby forming the image. Consequently, the sharp image can be formed.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to operate conveniently and to diagnose accurately by bringing a diseased part into contact with a thermoresponsible liq. crystal plate on an opening of an upper face of a box to form a colored image on a rear face of the liq. crystal plate and watching it from an opening of a front face of the box through a reflective face of a mirror in the box. CONSTITUTION:An upper opening 5 and a front opening 6 are provided in a front room 3 side of a box divided into two rooms and a supporting plate 7 is provided on the upper opening, on an upper face of which a thermoresponsible liq. crystal plate 8 is placed. In addition, a mirror 9 which makes a colored thermoimage formed on the rear face of the liq. plate visible from the front opening through a reflecting face is set in the front room. A diseased part is brought into contact with the thermoresponsible liq. crystal plate placed on the upper opening of the box to form a colored image on the rear face of the liq. crystal plate and the image can be visible from the front opening of the box through the reflecting face of the mirror set in the box. It is thereby possible to perform an accurate diagnosis, to reduce remarkably a manual work on processing and to utilize it to a local position to which it has been difficult to apply before.

    • PURPOSE:To display sharp characters and an image and to reduce the cost by sealing magnetic powder with superior light absorptivity and nonmagnetic particulates with superior light reflectivity in microcapsules and coating a nonmagnetic substrate with the microcapsules as a display element. CONSTITUTION:The entire reverse surface of the nonmagnetic material substrate 2 of the display 1 is coated with the microcapsules containing the magnetic powder 10 with light absorptivity and nonmagnetic particulates 11 consisting of light-reflective pigment or dye to form a microcapsule coating layer 4. Then the magnetic powder 10 in the microcapsules 3 is attracted and moved to the reverse surface of the display 1 by a magnetic device 7 which uses a permanent magnet 8 and the tip of the permanent magnet 8 mounted on a holder 12 is moved in contact from the surface of the nonmagnetic material substrate 2 whose surface reflects light in white entirely to cause a partial change into a black absorption color by the magnetic powder 10, thereby displaying the characters and image. Consequently, the sharp image can be formed and the cost is reducible.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a printed matter showing the same colors as those of an original at the time of reaching a certain set temperature, by subjecting the original to color separation to form positive films, forming printing plates by using the positive films, printing by using the printing plates and applying red, blue and yellow liquid-crystal inks particularly to white-colored areas. CONSTITUTION:An original is subjected to color separation to form positive films, and laying the positive firms on each other to form a white printing positive film for printing white-colored areas. Substrates are coated with a temperature indicating material which, now being in an undeveloped state, will be developed into a black color at the same set temperature as that for liquid crystals used in multicolor printing and capable of exhibiting respective colors when the set temperature is reached. With the positive films used for the substrates, respective printing plates are made based on the color separation, and multicolor printing is conducted by using the printing plates. For the printing, inks are used which are prepared by mixing each of the liquid crystals with a binder. Particularly, white colored areas are coated with red, blue and yellow liquid-crystal inks in a laminated manner.
